About the Author
Mary E. John is currently Senior Fellow and Director at the Centre for Women s Development Studies, New Delhi. She has written widely on feminism and women s studies. Her publications include Discrepant Dislocations: Feminism, Theory and Postcolonial Histories (1996) and more recently French Feminism: An Indian Anthology (co-edited, 2002) and Contested Transformations: Changing Economies and Identities in Contemporary India (co-edited, 2006).
